Sami Basuhail - AIA
Mr. BaSuhail is the founder and President of BASUHAIL ARCHITECTS PC located in Chevy Chase MD. He has more than 18 years experience as an architect and master planner with projects in the United States, Europe and the Middle East. He specializes in creating exciting urban and village experiences for commercial retail & outlet centers. The company provides the full range of architectural services to institutional and commercial clients in the US and internationally.
Project Experience:
Mr. BaSuhail has designed and administered the construction of a wide range of building types including some of the most technically challenging and unique projects in the US. These buildings include town centers, commercial and retail centers, hospitals, research laboratories, and university buildings. His skill and experience are in providing successful architectural solutions to buildings with both complex programmatic and technical requirements, and in the integration and coordination of all other disciplines such as structural and mechanical systems into the building as a whole.
Design Focus:
Mr. BaSuhail’s design focus is on creating vibrant and active retail centers by designing pedestrian friendly environments with urban streets and plazas where people can enjoy the architectural experience. There is also a focus on applying advanced design and technology solutions to provide elegant and functional buildings while staying within the particular life cycle needs of each project. In addition, Mr. BaSuhail has been designing and applying alternative energy systems and building integrated clean power since 1991, and is experienced in designing and delivering LEED certified buildings.
